Manoel started in banking at Citibank credit card in Brazil developing scorecard models (including credit, collection and fraud).

In 2005, he came to Santander , working in policy and fraud prevention, and returning to scorecard development.

 

 

In July 2008 Manoel came to the UK to be responsible for researches inside the R&D department of Santander Analytics worldwide. In January 2010, he started the year taking over the full range of R&D responsibilities; it happened concomitantly with the expansion of R&D team coverage beyond Santander Analytics borders, reaching out Basel , Market Risk Models and Economic Capital & Profitability – all worldwide.

 

 

 

  • In his presentation Manoel will explore:
    How a detection tool works – and present an applied confirmation of the previous result presented last year that showed that Neural Networks alone are not the best method.

     

  • Shows how Santander UK has being fighting first part fraud with models.

     

  • And finally, how a process of global R&D can help fighting fraud as fraudster become more and more global citizens.
