Alastair Sheen - Card Fraud Strategy Manager - HSBC

Alastair is a member of the MasterCard UK Security Committee and former chair of the Visa UK Risk Working Group.  

 

As Card Fraud Strategy Manager, Alastair has responsibility for the recently deployed SAS Fraud Management for HSBC in the UK , including day to day control of rules and strategies to balance fraud losses and cardholder experience.

Previously as Acquiring Fraud Manager, he had responsibility for all aspects of acquiring fraud policy, prevention, detection and investigation.

He has worked for HSBC ( Midland ) for over 30 years and has 20 years of experience in a variety of risk management roles, encompassing fraud, credit & operational risk management. This has included spells in Risk Management Training & Internal Credit Audit.

An Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, Alastair also holds the Certificate in Bank Card Management, is a member of the International Association of Financial Crimes Investigators and is a Financial Ombudsman Service Banking Panel Advisor.
